Link with Skype

Here's a guide to what you'll need to do in order to link with Skype:

  • Click on 'Find Contacts' in your contacts window
  • Click on 'Link with Skype'
  • Click on 'Finish'
  • The Skype Connection Helper will start.
  • Authorise Yuuguu to connect with Skype .

Yuuguu will now connect to skype. You will see all your skype contacts in Yuuguu and can chat, call, and screen share with a single click.

Authorising Yuuguu to connect with Skype (Windows)

Skype needs to be installed on your computer. Yuuguu will then try to run Skype and connect to it. You will be asked to allow access in Skype - this dialog will appear in Skype.

Click 'Allow Access'. After that your Skype contacts will appear in Yuuguu.
Note: you may see a slightly different message: 'javaw.exe wants to use Skype'.

Authorising Yuuguu to connect with Skype (Mac)

Skype needs to be installed on your computer. Yuuguu will then try to run Skype and connect to it. You will be asked to allow this program to use Skype.

Select 'Allow Access' and click OK. After that your Skype contacts will appear in Yuuguu.

Silent Mode

You may be asked to confirm silent mode in Skype.

We suggest that you:

  • Select Do not ask me again
  • Click OK

for the best user experience. The benefit is that the multiple message pop-ups will not appear from a single message. If you quit Yuuguu, Skype will be unhidden.

Troubleshooting

Skype needs to be installed in the standard location for Yuuguu to connect to it. If Yuuguu says that skype is not installed, try re-installing Skype. You can get Skype from www.skype.com.

Yuuguu may not be able to connect to Skype because it has been blocked. Here's how to fix that:

Unblocking Yuuguu (Windows)

  • Open Skype.
  • Select Options from the Tools menu.
  • In the Options dialog select Advanced
  • Click on Manage other programs' access to Skype
  • Select the entry with the name javaw.exe
  • Click on Change
  • In the Manage API Access Control Dialog select Allow this program to use Skype and click OK

Unblocking Yuuguu (Mac)

  • Restart Yuuguu.
  • Select Allow this application to use Skype.
