How to perform a Web Share

Although YuuGuu is a doddle to download and use as a desktop application, many of YuuGuu’s features can be shared with anyone – also for free – using the web. Web sharing with YuuGuu makes the benefits of the application’s screen-sharing and chat technology available to all.

Amazing as it may seem, not everyone with whom you might want to use features such as instant chat, group messaging or screen-sharing, will have the YuuGuu application downloaded to their desktops. But, where this is the case, YuuGuu has come to the rescue by offering all these services through the web.

What is web share?

Web sharing allows YuuGuu users to invite multiple contacts to screen sharing and messenging sessions through the web. Through the use of a URL and unique PIN, YuuGuu web sharing can be used by anyone, regardless of whether or not they have downloaded the YuuGuu application. Features include screen share and control, instant chat, and the ability to add the audio conference call facility to any conversation at the press of a button.

Do all participants need to be on YuuGuu?

No, only the host needs to be a registered YuuGuu user. By clicking the web share button in the YuuGuu desktop window a URL and unique PIN is provided, which they can then share with non-YuuGuu users to begin a web-sharing session.

How do I perform an online meeting using web share?

1. Click the ‘Web share’ button next to ‘Find contacts’ at the top of the YuuGuu window. The instant messenger window will appear along with the web share address and the unique PIN

2. Select and copy or use the ‘copy’ button next to the details to add the URL and unique PIN to your PC’s clipboard

3. Send the details of the web share to your invited participants. Participants can visit the web address through their normal web browser and enter their name and the unique PIN number to join the session. As they join, their names will appear in your web share window

4. Click the ‘Show’ button to allow participants to view your screen. The web share window will show how up to date in terms of time lag each participant is

5. Participants can request to share mouse and keyboard control of your computer within the session. Click ‘share’ on the request notification message to enable the control-sharing features. Click ‘retake control’ at the top of the web share window to end screen-control sharing

How do I add audio to my Web Share meeting?

To turn any web share session into a conference call, participants can use the phone number and unique PIN displayed in their web share window. Details of the phone charges for conference calling are available on the YuuGuu website at Yuuguu.com/pricing.
